How Commas Can Save Lives
Not including commas can dramatically alter the meaning of sentences. Sometimes, using fewer commas can increase mortality rates, as evident from the two examples shared below.
Catherine: “Let’s eat grandpa.” (Incorrect! Most people do not eat their grandparents and Catherine is no exception.)
Catherine: “Let’s eat, grandpa.” (Correct! Catherine expresses her desire to have food with her grandfather.)
