DNA Tool Predicts Height & More

Who knew that your height could help predict the possible diseases that you may encounter at some point in your life? A group of scientists from Michigan State University have discovered a new DNA tool that can predict your height accurately. Moreover, the same tool can be used to predict the risk of potential diseases for the same person. According to these researchers, the tool uses an algorithm that predicts the height of the individuals with a tiny error margin of 1 inch. The same algorithm is also able to identify bone density and thereby predict the risk of osteoporosis or other bone-related disorders for the same individual. The researchers also suggest that this tool could be used to study the genetic makeup and also to predict the chances of breast cancer or other serious illnesses. The team is also working on improving the tool so as to increase the number of illnesses it can predict.
