Italicization of Latin Terms

Researchers often use Latin terms when drafting manuscripts for journal submission. The most commonly used terms include et al., ab initio, in vivo, in vitro, etc. However, authors often get confused about whether to italicize these terms or the scientific names of the animal and plant kingdoms.
