Publishing a review paper in journal or book series? which one would be helpful for increasing citations?
I want to publish in reputed journal but while going through the list of reputed journals some journal offereing to write for their book series,
which one will be helpful especially when you are writing review paper and more concerned about the citations.
Review articles written by researchers are valuable tools for those looking for a synopsis of several research studies in one place without having to spend time finding the research and results themselves. A well-presented review paper provides the reader with unbiased information on studies within the discipline and presents why the results of some research studies are or are not valid. Moreover, institutions that fund research tend to use review articles to help them decide whether further research is necessary; however, their value is only as good as the objectives achieved and how the results are communicated. Citation of any research, on the other hand, is a different metric altogether. Number of citations that a paper (whether review article or manuscript) receives is dependent on its content and quality. Also publishing in a journal or a book series has no role to play in increasing citations. Therefore you can publish your review article in either a journal or a book series depending on the topic of your review article.
